The Sonnenalm - our alpine hut
The Sonnenalm at 1350 metres above sea level and in a fantastic panoramic position on the south side of the Rittisberg is a very special place - and we are not just saying that because it is our alpine hut. Our guests are always enchanted by the natural conviviality, the excellent service and the tradition that is cultivated here.
A trip to the Sonnenalm is a recommendation at any time of year and even in all weathers. Even when it rains, "the sun rises" with so much good atmosphere. With many events, such as company celebrations and anniversaries, we have already made a name for ourselves far beyond Ramsau. However, we have kept the cordiality and we welcome you warmly to the Sonnenalm.

Hike from the Rittisberg to the Sonnenalm
at any time of the year
In summer, you start the approx. 1-hour hike from the Rittisberg mountain station. From there there is a branch-off to the Sonnenalm.
After a well-deserved break and a hearty snack, you can hike back to the Rittisberg.
In winter, for pedestrians, you can walk along the path to the Sonnenalm, as in summer.
or for touring skiers the path is also a wonderful downhill run from the
from the Rittisberg mountain station directly to the alpine pasture.

Dachstein Glacier with Skywalk, Suspension Bridge and Ice Palace
We have a real highlight with the Dachstein directly in front of Landhaus Katharina. Here, at 2700 metres above sea level, the high alpine glacier landscape, the view of hundreds of mountain peaks and sensational attractions come together. Even the ascent with the modern panorama gondola past jagged rocks is a pleasure. With the Skywalk, the suspension bridge, the ice palace and the staircase to nowhere, you will experience the extraordinary. With the Schladming-Dachstein Sommercard you get the ascent and numerous attractions for free.
Hiking mountains Planai, Hochwurzen, Reiteralm and Hauser Kaibling
The southern side of the Enns Valley presents itself quite differently from the Dachstein massif - with numerous mountain lakes, thundering waterfalls and long valleys that have much to offer. The Wild Water Trail to the Riesachsee is just as enchanting as the place of contemplation on the Planai, the Hauser Kaibling is all about the 800 sheep that walk with their shepherd on the lush pastures every summer, or the Reiteralm with its magnificent mirror lake, in which the Dachstein massif opposite is reflected when there is no wind. Simply fantastic, but only a small selection of the almost unlimited possibilities in the mountains.
